Office 2007 vs. Office 2003

Description:
The Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, have a completely new look in Office 2007 compared to the previously supported version in Office 2003. This overview will not teach Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, but will highlight the differences in the screen views from the older versions of these products.
The same overview will be presented three times.


Introduction to Excel 2007

Description:
This preliminary workshop will cover the fundamentals of the Excel spreadsheet program. Attendees will learn about the toolbars and gain in depth information about the pull down menus. The class will look at data entry, data types, and data formatting.

Introduction to Excel 2007 Calculations

Description:
This Excel workshop is a continuation of the previous session. This class will focus on calculations, and function use within Excel. Examples will involve problem solving such as calculating student grade point averages, running subtotals, and sorting, cutting, pasting, and importing data.

Excel 2007 Projects

Description:
This Excel workshop uses concepts learned in the previous 2 workshops and applies them to specific problems you can solve using Excel. Projects covered in this course may include calculating mortgage payments, keeping a checkbook, elementary statistics such as averages and standard deviation, and keeping a gradebook.

 

Introduction to Word 2007

Description:
This introductory hands-on workshop will demonstrate the new ribbon interface in Word 2007 in order to perform the basic tasks that you used in previous versions of Word. Information will also be presented about the new .docx naming convention and setting the line spacing from the default of 1.5 in Word 2007 to 1.0.
Attendees should bring a sample document to work on.

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007

Description:
PowerPoint is often used at conferences/in the classroom to bring a visual component to a presentation.  This workshop will introduce those who have not used PowerPoint 2007 to the new look of PowerPoint 2007 such as use of the new ribbon menu. The autocontent wizard design templates have been replaced by themes. Slide transitions are now available under Animations. The attendee will be able to create a basic presentation.


Scanmark ES2800

The Scanmark ES2800 test scanner has the ability to scan multiple choice tests and receive immediate results. In addition a program called ParSCORE enables faculty to manage student records and data from their offices. This workshop will teach you how to use QuickSCOREII and ParSCORE.   Enrollment is limited to 6 people per session, and will be scheduled by contacting the instructor,

The demonstration will cover the fundamentals of the use of the various smart classroom equipment.
